It’s rare to see such unabashed, gushing praise from the normally reserved Grubes.
In an unquestionably classy move, Nick Douglas, the editor of the excellent compilation of the world’s funniest toots called Twitter Wit (Harper Collins) has featured Birdhouse in a list of “Tools for Twitter Wits”.

Thanks, Nick. Congratulations on your book. It’s a real fun read which everyone should buy.

Birdhouse gets 4 mice up in Macworld
Unfortunately, an editorial...

Birdhouse gets 4 mice up in Macworld

Unfortunately, an editorial oversight led them to print “You can’t post directly from Birdhouse”, which is completely and entirely 100% wrong in every way. That is, the one purpose the app most definitely serves—that of the ability to save and post to Twitter—has been reported incorrectly. (Way to go, Macworld editors!) But we’ve been in touch and they have promised to print a correction as soon as possible. (Thanks, Macworld!)

UPDATE: As @tj points out on Fun Size Bytes, the error should in no way be attributed to Lex Friedman, who wrote the original online review (and an excellent one at that). TJ did the forensics and has correctly come to this conclusion:

So it appears some anonymous copyeditor for the print version mangled this, probably misunderstanding this sentence from the original article:

[Birdhouse is] meant to be used in tandem with your “regular” Twitter client, since Birdhouse can only be used to write posts, not read them. No, I’m not joking.

Thank you, TJ. Thank you, Lex.

Here’s an incredible tribute from Fusion’s Chris...

Here’s an incredible tribute from Fusion’s Chris Bowler.
Not to brag or anything, but O’Reilly Media (maybe you’ve heard of them) sent us this official badge and official press release that says (and I’m paraphrasing here):

Great news, our iPhone App, _____________________, has been selected by O’Reilly Media as a Best iPhone App, and is featured in O’Reilly’s upcoming book, Best iPhone Apps: A Guide for Discriminating Downloaders, due to release in July, 2009. You can learn more about the book at the O’Reilly website, where you can save 30% off the regular price of the book with the special discount code BESTAPP.

UPDATE: We finally made it to BoingBoing. The results are quite astounding.

I’ll guide you: there are about 10 minutes of banter (talk of Doritos and iJustine), about 10 minutes of the What and When of Birdhouse (for the archivists among us) and then 20 minutes on the Why, which for my money, is the meat and potatoes of an app like ours.

This is my Birdhouse.

This is my Birdhouse.:
Today, Birdhouse was released for sale on the iTunes App Store.
